The seventeen "Sound Studies" Masters programme students, headed by Sam Auinger, regard the Large Water Reservoir, a19th century functional edifice, as an instrument with space-time reverberation periods of up to 14 seconds. Their installation does without visual staging. using a loudspeaker per ring and a subwoofer position, this overdimensional instrument is activated by sound-space studies created on location by the students. Visitors are invited to relate the heard experience with their respective audial position in the room, to explore the water reservoir as an instrument and to eavesdrop on it.
