The interaction between light and sound is the pivotal point of a joint project of Manuel Haible, Georg Werner and Heiko Wommelsdorf (students of the class Ulrich Eller at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig). Neon tubes are used as instruments in “Klanglumineszenz”. By manipulating the electronic switching procedures, light and sounds can be arranged much as in a multi-channel composition. The amplified sounds arising from switching on the tubes are directly connected with the light effects. Resulting are complex audio-visual rhythms and sound fields.
